Bhajane by Sri Vidyabhushana
On Tuesday last, Sri Vidyabhushana, the genial singer of dasarapadas, visited our home for a Bhajana program. Once in a while, he visits, along with his team, to houses of interested people and conducts a Bhajana program.
We were extremely lucky that he accepted to visit our home this Tuesday. He and his Bhajana group members came at around 6:45PM and performed for nearly 90 minutes. It was a divine experience listening to Sri Vidyabhushana singing some very popular dasara padas.
At the end of the journey, he performed a puja. Overall, it was an extraordinary spiritual experience.

Sri Pejavara Swamiji’s visit to our house
Recently, my uncle conducted the Sama Veda Samhita Yaga at our home in Nellitheertha. On that ocassion, we had requested the junior pontiff of the Pejavara Adhokshaja Matha of Udupi, Sri Sri Vishvaprasanna Theertha Swamiji to come home. He agreed and we got the opportunity of performing Pada Puje to him.
Sri Swamiji also had brought home the idols of the Matha, Sri Vittala and did a puje at our residence. In the above photo, you may notice that the silver stand used to keep the Saligramas is mostly empty because the Saligramas had been kept near the Yagna Kunda.
After the Puje, Sri Swamiji gave a very useful talk to all of us highlighting some of the necessary practices that every Madhva should undertake. This was followed by Mantrakshate to all of us.
Sri Swamiji, under the guidance of his Guru – the great Sri Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji, is running many projects for the community’s welfare. He is running a Go-Shale and also a Vedic School. More details can be obtained from the Matha website.
The matha is doing some excellent work in the Go-Shale protecting hundreds of cows in the region. The website also has details on how one can contribute to the project. I am sure many will find this a worthwhile cause to donate and help protect cows.
Ganesha and Haridasas
On the ocassion of Ganesha Chathurthi, I am uploading the lyrics of two padas by Haridasas composed in praise of Lord Ganapati (in Kannada script). One is Nammamma Sharade by Sri Kanaka Dasa and the other one is Gajavadana Beduve by Sri Purandara Dasa.
Wish everyone a very happy Ganesha Chaturthi. May Lord Vishvambhara, through Ganapati, bless all of us!
Pavamana Pavamana
The song Pavamana Jagada Prana by Sri Vijaya dasaru is one of my all time favorites. Especially in the voice of Sri Puttur Narasimha Nayak. Simply enchanting and captivating. Since a few months now, my little brother has got into the habit of putting this CD as soon as he gets up. Its almost a daily routine now to begin my day listening to this wonderful composition.
I managed to capture the song in a pdf document today. I have uploaded the same to my mantras page.
